Mr. Curtis Miller has retired as Troop 363 Scoutmaster as of July 3, 2001. We owe thanks to Mr. Miller for his commitment to the Scouting program and service to the Scouts of Troop 363. Numbers such as advancement statistics, retention rates and nights of camping can measure Scoutmasters. More importantly thought are the non-tangible measures. Has the
Scoutmaster to help boys learn the skills of leadership, of the outdoors, and of life? Has he help incorporate Scouting's values into a boy's home, school, and religious community? As the Scouts advanced, has he advanced Scouting’s aims of character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness? Has he been a friend to your son? By all these measures Curtis Miller has been an exceptional Scoutmaster and asset to the Troop.

Mr. Miller plans to stay active as an Assistant Scoutmaster and will still help when possible. His enthusiasm for the Scouting program has not diminished, only the time available to devote to it has due to new work and family commitments. I (Ron Gabriel) will be the new Scoutmaster and fill out the remaining Scouting year.

The Scouting trail is challenging and reaching the top is almost impossible without good Scout Leaders. Our Scout Leaders deserve the best support we can give them. Every parent has and active role in helping to deliver the promise of scouting. Help is needed at all levels - there is room for an amazing variety of contributions in both time and skill. The growth experience Scouting has to offer is not just for the boys but also waiting for you.
