Troop 363 Uniform Guidelines
The first item is our current standard for all Scouts. This newly expanded guideline will take effect on August 22, 2000 as voted by the Scouts at the May 1, 2000 Patrol Leader Council meeting. Any Scout receiving the Eagle Board of Review or Eagle Court of Honor after May 1, 2000 will need to have the full uniform as listed below. Wearing your uniform at the 3/4 of our meetings and events will be considered when evaluating Scouting Spirit for rank advancement.
Scouts who are Star Rank or below - Uniform will consist of official BSA uniform shirt, troop hat, troop neckerchief and slide, proper insignia on uniform, jeans or shorts, socks and shoes or boots (no sandals). Some refer to this as our Class "A" uniform.
Life and Eagle Scouts and Senior Patrol Leader - Uniform will consist of the above items with the following additions: Official BSA shorts or pants, official BSA socks if shorts are worn. A scout bolo may be worn in place of the neckerchief.
Scoutmaster / Committee has the discretion to waive uniform requirements for extenuating circumstances. In addition, the Patrol Leader Council may designate Troop t-shirts as the summer uniform.
Troop causal wear will be a Troop t-shirt with jeans or shorts and appropriate footwear. The color of the t-shirt will be determined ahead of time by the Scoutmaster or SPL, if desired, for the outing. For any scouting event, the minimum requirement will be to always wear our troop or other BSA related t-shirt. Some refer to this as our Class "B" uniform.
For Board of Reviews and Court of Honors, merit badge sashes (if applicable) should be worn.
Since hats shouldn't be worn inside the Church, hats will not be required for the normal Tuesday Scout meetings. If you are going to wear a hat to the meeting, it must be a scout hat.
Hats, neckerchiefs, slides, belts, bolos and related items that come from scouting events such as summer camp, OA functions or Jamborees and items made by scout (especially slides) may be worn in place of regulation items.
Please consider donating outgrown items to the Troop. The Troop will keep "experienced" uniform and t-shirts in the storage closet for any Scout to use on a first come basis.
